Kiawe is Hawaii's slightly sweeter version of the mesquite tree and Hawaii's choice wood for smoking & roasting our favorite foods. The first Kiawe tree was planted by Father Bachelot in Hawai'i in 1828 with seeds grown at the royal garden in Paris. Our Moloka'i Kiawe smoked salt adds a bold and smoky flavor to vegetarian dishes, fresh soups, and roasted meats or vegetables.
